This body posture sends the signal of disinterest in the selection/object (get it away from me) It also says “I’m not looking so you’re free to do what you like.”
Notice here that the hands are very far from the eyes. These are the twlo points of interest (usually) in effects. Therefore, a spectator’s attention will need to shift between these two points.
This option provides a much smaller distance for the spectator’s eyes to jump between. Also note that when the eyes are the main focus the hands are still, “in frame.”

The hands are apart and the gaze is elsewhere. The eyes shift slightly ahead of the hands coming back together to execute.
Once the hands come together the natural inclination of the spectator is to look to them. Unless the gaze is also directed at them.
